Rapes: Man hands himself over

Johannesburg - A 28-year old man has been taken in for questioning in connection with a series of rapes involving schoolgirls in the Benoni area on the East Rand, SABC reported on Thursday.
The man apparently handed himself over to police earlier on Thursday. Three other men were questioned earlier.
An alleged serial rapist targeted blonde girls between the ages of 11 and 16. He was believed to be driving around in a red Opel Corsa bakkie.
The man's modus operandi is to call girls to his car as if seeking information. When they are close enough, he pounces, dragging the victims into the cab of his bakkie.
The man then takes them to a smallholding in Bredell where he rapes them. When the attack is over, he returns them to the spot where he first picked them up.
The man is white, aged between 24 and 35, has short dark blonde hair, is of small build and about 1.7m tall.
