Johannesburg - Grasmere rapist Jacob Cokinha Kasper was sentenced to three life terms in Pretoria High Court on Monday, reported the SABC.
Presiding Judge Mahommed Ishmail described the crimes as "brazen, planned, horrific and beastly".
The Mozambican national was found guilty on six charges, two of rape and attempted murder, one armed robbery charge and one kidnapping charge earlier this month.
He and two accomplices hijacked a man, his wife and their niece near the Grasmere Toll Plaza two years ago.
They took the two women hostage, raped them and then dumped them and drove off.
