Roads blocked in Petrusburg protest
Bloemfontein - About 200 disgruntled Petrusburg residents blockaded streets and burnt tyres during a service delivery protest on Thursday, Free State police said.
"They used stones and rocks to block the roads, but no serious incidents were reported," police spokesperson Captain Harry Nagel said.
"Police are monitoring the situation closely."
Residents had gathered since 04:00.
The group wanted a response to a memorandum of demands which had been delivered to the Letsameng municipality two weeks ago over the provision of water and sanitation.
