Pretoria - A man had to have his left nipple surgically removed after a robber bit a chunk out of his chest during an attack on the N1 outside Pretoria.

The 42-year-old man, his 40-year-old wife and father-in-law were heading back from the Carousel casino on Saturday evening when their car hit rocks that were left in the road.  One of the tyres burst and the man, who didn’t want to be identified, had to stop, reported Beeld.

“I couldn’t get out of the way in time. When I saw the rocks, I knew there was big trouble,” said the motorist.

He stopped the car near a pedestrian bridge and a man with a knife came out and shouted at them to give him money.

He stabbed the motorist in the arm a few times and stabbed the older man in the chest and left hand.

Even after they gave him cellphones and money, he kept shouting at them.

The motorist then turned around and grabbed both the attacker’s hands, which was when the robber bit into his chest and tore out a chunk of flesh, spitting it out.

The attacker then fled and the younger man was taken to hospital for treatment.
