Johannesburg - A man was shot and killed by security
guards during a house robbery in Sandhurst, Johannesburg, on Thursday, police said.
He was among three armed men who confronted the gardener
at a house on Empire Place, police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini said.
A neighbour who witnessed the incident, pressed a panic
button and the local security guards arrived.
The guards saw the men fleeing and fired several shots.
One of the robbers was fatally wounded and declared dead
on the scene.
Two other men
managed to run away.
The thieves were only able to steal the house keys.
