Johannesberg - Kempton Park police arrested two men on Friday for allegedly breaking into a hunter's house in Bredel and stealing eight firearms and cash.
Constable Zenzile Murudi said a third man fled with the money, believed to be about R8 000.
Police were alerted to an ongoing robbery in the early hours of the morning in Bredel. When police arrived two men fled the scene, leaving six guns behind. They were later arrested in possession of four guns, two belonging to the hunter and two unlicensed, she said.
Two stolen cellphones were also recovered.
The men had tied the hunter and his gardener inside the house's cottage.
"They then proceeded to the house where they found the hunter's wife, and forced her to open the safe.
"It appears that the hunter managed to free himself up and ran to the neighbours where he phoned police," Murudi said.
Two suspects, aged 31 and 32, will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday.
