Johannesburg - A teenage girl was shot dead and her father and sister were wounded in an armed robbery at their home in Muldersdrift, on the West Rand, Gauteng police said on Thursday.

Four armed men attacked the 13-year-old girl, her 17-year-old sister and their father when they returned home on Wednesday evening, Captain Pinky Tsinyane said.

They ordered them out of their car and took their cellphones before shooting at them. The man and his daughters were rushed to hospital, where the youngest died on arrival.

No arrests had been made.
