Pretoria - A 72-year-old woman was pistol-whipped by men who robbed her son's Arcadia bottle store of cash and goods worth R17 000 on Thursday evening, Pretoria police reported on Friday.
The four robbers held up store owner Jacobus Dyssel his mother and an employee about 18:30, said police spokesperson Inspector Percy Morokane.
They took R10 000 in cash, liquor worth about R2 000, and jewellery from their three hostages worth about R5 000.
They pistol-whipped the woman before fleeing. She was taken to the Muelmed Hospital.
As they fled, the men robbed a man of his Audi A3 in the parking lot. They also took two of his credit cards and a cellphone.
