Johannesburg - A 40-year-old man was robbed of his cellphone and four wheels off his truck when he stopped on the side of the Fontein road outside Middelburg, said police on Friday.
Captain Klaas Maloka said the man allegedly stopped his truck, when it overheated, about 06.30 on Thursday.
Maloka said: "He went underneath the truck to check the cause, then an unknown white Toyota bakkie pulled over with three male occupants."
One of the robbers forcefully pulled the man out. He was then tied up with wire.
The robbers stole the man's cellphone and four wheels off the truck to the value of R11 870.
The man was untied by his colleague when he returned from a nearby spaza shop.
No arrests had been made yet.
A case of robbery was being investigated, Maloka said.
