2012-02-02 20:15

Johannesburg - A Rwandan man appeared in the Bellville Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs through Cape Town International Airport, police said.

He was arrested at the arrivals hall on Monday when his bags were searched, police spokesperson Captain Frederick van Wyk said.

The 48-year-old man, who lives in Manenberg on the Cape Flats, had arrived from Buenos Aires in Argentina.

"Two kilograms of cocaine were discovered hidden in Peruvian ornaments," Van Wyk said.

The drugs have a street value of about R575 400.

The matter was postponed to February 9 for his bail application.

NO bail! Why should he get bail? Mannenberg parents have suffered enough - NO bail! Make example of him - greedy pig that destroys lives to enrich himself.

Just a note... They often use someone as a "pawn"... Who knows how many KILO's slipped past while they were concentrating on this one guy... Especially when it seems that many of the "officials" are not the staightest shooters out there...
