SA businessman killed in Kenya mall attack

Cape Town - The international relations department  has identified the South African who was killed in the Nairobi, Kenya, mall attack.

eNCA quoting the department, said the victim was businessman James Thomas.

He reportedly had been in Nairobi on business.

Thomas's family had been notified of his death, eNCA said.

Pastor Dave Meldrum of St Peter's Church, Mowbray, Cape Town, tweeted that Thomas had been shot dead.

Thomas had been a warden at St Peter's.   

The eNCA added that according to SA's High Commissioner to Kenya, Ratubatsi Moloi, there are still South Africans trapped inside the mall and they were in touch with them.

Moloi had initially said it was a woman who had been killed, the news channel said.
