SA music star arrested

Town – Ard Matthews,
lead singer of the rock group Just Jinjer, has confirmed that he was arrested
for drunk driving in Cape Town.
The star said he was
"terribly embarrassed and regretted" what happened.
Police spokesperson
Ezra October said Matthews, 35, was involved in a minor car accident on
Saturday morning at about 04:50 in the Cape Town city centre.
He apparently drove into
the pavement with his bakkie. It was towed by a tow truck.
The singer was taken for
blood alcohol monitoring and was afterwards charged with drunken driving. He
spent the night in police cells.
He was released on bail and
would soon appear in a Cape Town
court.
Matthews is engaged to
model Landi Swanepoel.
Soon after his release, he
wrote on Facebook that he was posting the story before it was blown out of
proportion.
"Like an idiot, I
decided to take a chance and I was caught. I learnt the biggest lesson and it
will never happen again in my life."
