SA still shows high level of pride

Pretoria - South Africans had the highest level of national pride but were at the same time ashamed of some aspects that exist within society, a survey found on Tuesday.
"There is still high levels of national pride, we rank six in the world," said co-ordinator Ben Roberts, at the release of the SA Social Attitudes Survey (SASAS).
"Were are a very patriotic society despite the fact that there is some discontent about certain aspects of our democracy."
Of major concern to people over the last decade was issues like unemployment, HIV/Aids, poverty and national safety.
Roberts said the survey also highlighted increasing concerns over corruption.
