SANBS pleads for blood
Johannesburg - The SA National Blood Services on Saturday appealed to people to donate blood as some provinces ran out of the blood supply, SABC news reported.
Gauteng and the Free State were forced to send extra blood stocks to KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo after their stocks ran out.
The SANBS said high demand in these two provinces depleted blood stocks.
People who have the O-positive blood type were particularly encouraged to donate.
The O-positive blood type can be used as a transfusion for anyone.
