Johannesburg - A security manager at the Sandton
Convention Centre, in Johannesburg, died in hospital on Wednesday from injuries
sustained in a fall, the centre said.
"There was an incident this morning. Our security
manager Michael Ndlovu accidentally fell during an inspection tour. He was
airlifted to hospital where he unfortunately passed on," said executive
director Mati Nyazema.
She said Ndlovu slipped and fell shortly before 06:00.
His colleagues called paramedics and he was airlifted to hospital.
"The circumstances of the fall are currently being
investigated."
Nyazema said Ndlovu's next-of-kin had been informed about
his death.
Police spokesperson Kim Cloete said Ndlovu fell about 10m
to the ground and was airlifted to the Milpark hospital, where he was declared
dead.
An inquest docket would be opened, she said.
