Johannesburg - A man convicted and sentenced for killing Kirsty Theologo started testifying against four other accused in the South Gauteng High Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Lester Moody, 19, was sentenced to 17 years in prison, five of them suspended, after he confessed to being part of the apparent satanic ritual in 2011.

Theologo was doused with petrol and set alight on a hill behind the Linmeyer swimming pool, near Julius Street, Johannesburg, on 21 October 2011.

She died of her injuries a week later at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.

Her friend, who was 14 at the time, was also burnt but survived.

Moody, and another accused, Jeremy King, entered into a plea bargain with the State in an attempt to get a lesser sentence.

The matter continues.
