School girl killed in accident
Johannesburg - A school pupil died after she was knocked down by a car at Umlazi, Durban, paramedics said on Saturday.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Jeff Wicks, said another school pupil and three occupants in the car were seriously injured in the crash on Friday afternoon.
"The driver lost control of the car while negotiating a bend.
"It mounted the curb and struck two teenage school girls who had been waiting for a bus and thereafter slammed into a house, coming to rest in the lounge after breaking through the outer structure."
Wicks said one of the girls was declared dead on the scene.
The injured were treated and transported to hospital.
Meanwhile a 17-year-old motorcyclist died when he was hit by car in Durban and a truck driver was killed on Saturday when his heavy goods vehicle left the N3 highway near Lions River in the KwaZulu-NatalMidlands.
