Cape Town - The search for a utility tug boat with four men aboard would continue, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said on Saturday.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the 16 metre-long Hawk was sailing from Richards Bay to Cape Town.
Lambinon said the last time any communication with the boat was made was on Wednesday evening.
"The vessel was reported overdue at its port of call in East London on Friday afternoon," Lambinon said.
A search operation by the NSRI, Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre, the SA airforce and navy as well as a number of private aircraft and boats was launched.
"At about 16:00 on Friday an empty, unused raft believed to be that of the Hawk was found 10 nautical miles north of Shelly Beach," said Lambinon.
The search for the four would continue, he said.
