Pretoria – The case of a woman who allegedly had sex with two dogs will go to trial next week, Pretoria News reported on Tuesday.

Jana Smit, 31, and he co-accused and ex-lover Morne Fourie, 31, face five charges of bestiality, possession of child pornography and sexual enticement.

Smit was arrested in August last year after the NSPCA allegedly obtained home-made footage of the sex acts with a Staffordshire bull terrier and a Labrador. Fourie was arrested three days later for allegedly helping to produce some of the pornographic images.

The case was transferred to a court with an Afrikaans-speaking magistrate and the trial will start next week, Pretoria News reported. State prosecutor Heinrich Scholtz said it would be easier if the magistrate could speak Afrikaans as all the accused and defence in the matter are Afrikaans-speaking.

After her arrest, the Labrador was taken away and put up for adoption.  The Staffie was said to belong to Smit’s neighbours at her Pretoria East home.
