Sheep stolen to pay lobola

Mthatha - Seven men have been arrested for stealing sheep in Mount Ayliff, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.

The men, aged between 18 and 30, were arrested on Sunday afternoon for stealing 30 sheep to pay lobola, said Captain Mlungisi Matidane.

Matidane said the animals were being kept at the municipal pound.

The men would appear in the Mount Ayliff Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of stock theft.
