2012-02-21 13:16

Johannesburg - The Gauteng health department and the Democratic Nursing Organisation of SA (Denosa) expressed shock on Tuesday at the murder of a nurse at Sterkfontein Hospital in Krugersdorp.

The male nurse was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend in the hospital's nurses' residence on Monday night, department spokesperson Simon Zwane said.

Health MEC Ntombi Mekgwe had sent her condolences to the nurse's family, said Zwane.

"We send our heartfelt condolences to family and friends of the deceased," said Denosa Gauteng chairperson Simon Hlungwani.

The nurse was stabbed in the chest at around 20:00 and died on the scene.

The motive for the murder was not known.

The Gauteng health department and the Democratic Nursing Organisation of SA (Denosa) expressed shock on Tuesday at the murder of a nurse at Sterkfontein Hospital in Krugersdorp They and all the ANC are very noticeable in their silence regarding the numerous Farm Murders this month alone.

@ Nyaziwa- If you do not understand the sarcasm then maybe you should not fool yourself to reply- What Rebel is trying to say is that its funny how quick goverment can show their disgust at certain much smaller things, but when a farmer is murdered and butchered no goverment dept seems to have the same response if any response at all. Do you get it now?

      godesha - 2012-02-21 14:51

@Nyaziwe. Please explain the difference between the life of a nurse and the life of a farmer. I for one can see no difference, a living person is a living person, no matter what their profession, race, gender and a murder is a murder. @Rebel. The silence of the ANC does not surprise me at all. In fact, they have been very quiet about farm murders in general.

Sometimes you cannot do everything alone and as a result you try to get someone to avoid being eventually infected with various diseases.
