Polokwane - Police confirmed on Thursday that they were investigating an attempted murder case following a shooting at the house of the Vhembe Regional ANC Youth League chairperson in Limpopo.

Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said the shooting took place at Aluruli Nelwamondo's home in the Makwarela township, near Thohoyandou, on Saturday.

"According to statements, four armed men allegedly scaled the security wall of the house and forced opened the door," said Mulaudzi.

The men demanded to see Nelwamondo, but his two brothers told them he was not home.

"Having learnt that Nelwamondo was not available, one suspect fired three shots at the brothers, but missed, before they fled."

No arrests have been made.
