Sisulu mourners get excited over Winnie
Johannesburg - As the SABC broadcast images of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela at the funeral of Albertina Sisulu at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday, mourners roared with excitement.
The crowd broke out into song and chanted "Winnie, Winnie, Winnie".
Members of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the armed wing of the ANC, who were on the field started dancing to the struggle songs sung by the crowd, exciting them even more.
Mourners sang, cheered, danced and blew vuvuzelas.
A larger-than-life picture of Sisulu printed on a cloth with the ANC emblem, was laid out on the field with the words "nation builder and selfless leader" and "hambe kahle thole!".
Sisulu died at the age of 92 at her Linden home in Johannesburg last Thursday.
