Sisulu mourners get excited over Winnie

2011-06-11 20:37

Johannesburg - As the SABC broadcast images of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela at the funeral of Albertina Sisulu at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday, mourners roared with excitement.

The crowd broke out into song and chanted "Winnie, Winnie, Winnie".

Members of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the armed wing of the ANC, who were on the field started dancing to the struggle songs sung by the crowd, exciting them even more.

Mourners sang, cheered, danced and blew vuvuzelas.

A larger-than-life picture of Sisulu printed on a cloth with the ANC emblem, was laid out on the field with the words "nation builder and selfless leader" and "hambe kahle thole!".

Sisulu died at the age of 92 at her Linden home in Johannesburg last Thursday.

Uninformed mob, all I can say. But it suits the ANC to the T.

      cliffarc - 2011-06-11 21:56

      - Herd mentality. Please God, that this murdering , corrupt, lazy and incompetent excuse for a homo-sapien, now begins to steal the limelight. Jeez, how low do Anc supporters have to go to find an icon to look up to ? ' Mother of the nation '- Hmm- more like Mother from hell for me.

  • POLLENYS - 2011-06-11 21:36

How can they possibly equate Albertina with Winnie? Dunno much about her, but her husband Walter was a shining light in non-violent protests and being reasonable. Unlike all those after him, including the icon Mandela.

      Eric West - 2011-06-11 21:52

Mandela has blood on his hands. Church Street. Shell House massacre.

  • Horst - 2011-06-11 21:37

I am very disappointed. Using an occasion like this to sling mud at each other. Have a bit of respect for the deceased and the mourners. In future, I think, I will not read the comments behind an article of this nature.

      cliffarc - 2011-06-11 21:59

      - mshini wam - stop your nonsense - you're upsetting Horst.

      Yoni - 2011-06-12 12:10

@Mishka: Shalom my child. We need more intellectuals on here.

      S knot - 2011-06-12 17:37

Horst, don't worry about your disappointment. You are probably an isolated case. But thanks for sharing this special information with us.

    That IS scary!

  • Aristotle - 2011-06-11 23:10

Amazing! There's no accounting for you people. Albertins Sisulu, Adelaide Tambo, and others were real struggle Icons. They were honest, sincere, graceful and above all, they were ladies. Winnie has been proved to be nothing more than a self seeking, dishonest and unscrupulous pretender to Nelson Mandel'a legacy. She let Mandela down, she caused more racial problems in this Country than anyone else in the ANC, she was implicated in the death of Stompie, and no doubt others, yet she is still regarded as a hero by the black people in the ANC. She shouldn't be allowed to be compared with the likes of Sisulu or Tambo. She is a rabid racist, and an embarrassment to this Country, and the sooner she passes out of political life and indeed out of life generally, the better off this Country, and those same fools that fawn over her 'struggle credentials", will be.

  • Aristotle - 2011-06-11 23:22

South Africa is the only country in the world where affirmative action is in the favour of the majority who has complete political control. The fact that the political majority requires affirmative action to protect them against a 9% minority group is testament to a complete failure on their part to build their own wealth making structures, such that their only solution is to take it from others. London Times Mshini wam, read this and understand how you and your people are looked on by the World around you.

      zebracobra - 2011-06-11 23:57

why make jokes about the passing away of our beloved Mama Sisulu, we respect and wil not insult u mother in death.Mama and baba Sisulu never hate other nations but hated aparteyd but never hated Vervoed the god of apertyd, sorry pencilgraffiti and likes.

      Vlooi - 2011-06-12 20:12

@zebracobra - after 12 years of brainwashing (should have been more in your case but then they are not allowed to fail you in school anymore), you still cannot spell APARTHEID. The part you got right at least is that our mothers are not insulted in death, lately they get insulted while the animals kill them.

  • Siphoxxx - 2011-06-11 23:40

winnie will b presidant if malema fales and she will get rid of the foreners and we can b free and we will take our land back stolen by foreners DOWN with tony leon and zila !!!

      Mishka - 2011-06-12 06:22

The errors in English by Siphoxxx are clearly deliberate. Surely this is a white male, between the ages of 19 and 25, rejected by his peers, made fun of continuously, bullied and possibly even beaten up. I could go on and on, but we get the point. Now go away dear, and leave daddy's notebook alone...........

      USSA - 2011-06-12 16:17

@Mishka I made a nearly identical statement two days ago. I agree 100%

      Zion - 2011-06-12 18:06

Where is Tony Leon? How is he part of this discussion?

      York Hunt - 2011-06-13 07:51

      DubulaAMABUNU - 2011-06-13 08:47

We must just throw them into sea they are full of sh*t these criminals they killed our brothers and sisters but we forgave them look at what they are doing now,.

  • Mike - 2011-06-12 00:48

Was this a State event paid for by taxpayers or an ANC event paid for by ANC members? Not clear since the report refers to members of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the armed wing of the ANC, dancing and singing on the field, and to a giant portrait of Sisulu with an ANC emblem. I have no problem with Sisulu being honoured, either by the State or by the ANC -- but if it was a State function then it should not honour the ANC, and if it was an ANC function, then it should not be paid for by taxpayers.

      cliffarc - 2011-06-12 01:32

      - What a question - undoubtedly taxpayers money.

      Cupra - 2011-06-13 09:57

Either way, WE paid for it! ANC money is OUR money! Thieving b@sdtards!!!!!

HEY DUBALA EBANTU.....WHY DONT YOU SWING OFF INTO THE TREES WHERE YOU CAME FROM-YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE NOW BE GONE WITH YOU,YOU HORRIBLE PATHETIC LITTLE MAN.

      blaman - 2011-06-13 15:58

I agree with Dubula. White Racists should leave , there is no place for them in the new south africa . But to be fair , then black racists should leave as well. What a wonderfull country we would have then? No Julius , no Winnie Mandela , probably no ANC whatsoever. Dubula , what you do not get is that white racists are no longer the problem. They are in the extreme minority. Black racists are killing this country.

  • Ross - 2011-06-12 07:57
