Soweto cop appears in court
Johannesburg - A student constable accused of shooting dead a Soweto teenager appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Student Constable Sipho Mbatha would be back in court on April 18, national prosecuting authority spokesperson Kholeka Gcaleka said.
Mbatha allegedly killed 16-year-old Thato Mokoka in Braamfischerville Phase Two, Soweto, on February 14.
The teenager was shot three times with an R5 rifle, apparently while lying on the ground on his stomach outside his grandmother Sybil Mokoka's home.
