Soweto crime blitz nets 65

Johannesburg - Sixty five people were arrested in Soweto during a crime combating operation, Johannesburg police said on Sunday.
Inspector Kay Makhubele said the operation began on Saturday and ended on Sunday.
"The suspects were charged with shoplifting, malicious damage to property, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, possession of dagga and of stolen motor vehicles."
The arrests were made in Jabulani, Zondi, Zola and Moletsane. The 65 were expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Monday.
