Johannesburg - A man has been arrested for murder in Bramfischerville,
Soweto, after being on the run for two years, Gauteng police said on Friday.
He allegedly stabbed and killed his girlfriend during a
heated argument in 2011 at the woman's house in Emdeni, Soweto, police
spokesperson Kabelo Marumo said.
In 2008 the Protea Magistrate's Court handed him a
five-year suspended sentence for domestic violence.
It was alleged the man, in his 50s, also fathered the
woman's child.
He was arrested on Thursday after a tip-off.
"He will appear on 25 March [Monday] at the Protea
Magistrate's Court on murder charges," said Marumo.
