Soweto raids net 112

Johannesburg - A total of 112 people were arrested in Soweto over the weekend, Gauteng police said on Sunday.
Inspector Kay Makhubela said the arrests were made during a police operation in Zondi, Mofolo North, Jabulani, Moletsane and Zola.
More than half of those arrested were for crimes ranging from assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm to malicious damage to property. Some of them would also face charges of shoplifting, attempted rape, housebreaking, theft and armed robbery.
About 40 were arrested for public drinking and walking the streets drunk.
They would all appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Monday.
