Johannesburg - The Spar supermarket group has placed a full page advertisement in several newspapers, offering a R100 000 reward for information on the robbers who shot dead the manager of the Spar in Jukskei Park on June 10.

The crime was caught on closed circuit television (CCTV), as was another robbery at a Melville liquor shop on June 3. It appeared that the robberies were perpetrated by the same gang, according to the police.

In the advertisement placed in Beeld, Sowetan and The Star on Wednesday, underneath CCTV images taken at the Jukskei Spar just moments before the criminals shot dead manager Paul Androliakos, the group asked the public to "help us capture these cruel killers".

Anyone who recognised the men or had information about the crime was asked to call the number 071 316 8947.

According to the advertisement, a R100 000 reward was on offer for any information leading to the capture and prosecution of the murderers.

Police suspect that the gang could be behind at least eight more supermarket robberies in the Johannesburg area since May 2011.
