2011-12-01 16:42

Johannesburg - The prosecution in the murder trial of musician Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye and co-accused Themba Tshabalala closed its case in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

The defence was still expected to lead its witnesses, and the trial was postponed to Monday.

Maarohanye and Tshabalala are facing charges of murder, attempted murder and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

They allegedly crashed into a group of school children with their Mini Coopers, killing four of them and seriously injuring two others in March last year.

I'm not so sure what they mean when they say "the case has been closed"? Does it literally mean he will not be convicted ever?

I really hope and pray that justice will be done this time, especially because these people are our celebrities that we love, respect and support. The state has to actually put its foot down when it comes to sentencing these people and maybe some of us we also learn something from it and I am also glad that on Monday this case will finally coming to an end because honestly it has been dragging for too long now. Putting these people behind bars will not bring those teenagers back who was robbed of their lives but will also give peace and maybe closure to their families.

If you gonna do the 'shine' you gotta do the time! The drugs have cost him so much more than his reputation. It cost this young man, his life and the lives he took through his selfish actions. My heart is sore. I see those little, innocent souls, who have lost their lives but I also see a young 'boy', who made a terrrible, terrible mistake and has to live with that for the rest of his life. If he gets off scott free......well then, I hope he gets hit by a truck and dies because there still has to be justice!

Will the defence council now drag out the case for another year or so with trivial questioning and witnesses of no consequence ??
