Statutory rape case on hold
Johannesburg - The case against a North West hospital CEO and his friend accused of the statutory rape of a teenage girl was postponed by the Taung Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Thulane Ngubane said the CEO and his friend had been granted R1 000 bail each and would appear again on February 21.
He said the CEO's lawyer asked the court for a later date to prepare for the case.
The CEO allegedly had an affair with the 15-year-old girl and had sex with her after they attended a party.
The man then apparently asked his friend to take the girl home.
On the way home, the friend also had sex with the girl. She told her sister who then alerted the police.
