Stepfather held for rape

Burgersfort - A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with the continued rape of his two stepdaughters at Phiring village, near Burgersfort, Limpopo police said on Wednesday.

Inspector Ntobeng Phala said the man had allegedly been raping the girls, aged 15 and 17, since 1999 when he married their mother.

The man was arrested at his home on Tuesday after the girls informed the community policing forum.

Police would be questioning the man's wife, as her children claimed she had turned a blind eye to what was happening, Phala said.

The man was expected to appear in court soon.
