Johannesburg - A man was arrested after he was found in possession of a stolen company bakkie in Erasmia, Pretoria, Gauteng police said on Monday.

"It's alleged that a man aged 35 years stole the car keys from where the keys are kept in a company at Rudolph Street [in] Sunderland Ridge... at about 01:00 [on Sunday]”, said police spokesperson Tumisang Moloto.

The man, who is an employee of the company, reportedly took the Hyundai H10 bakkie to visit a friend in Tembisa, Johannesburg.

The vehicle's tracking device led police to the overturned vehicle later in the day after it was reported stolen.

The man had sustained minor injuries.

"The suspect was arrested and it was discovered that [he] had no valid driver's licence," said Moloto.

A case of theft had been opened and the man would appear in the Atteridgeville Magistrate's Court soon.
