Johannesburg - A University of Johannesburg 23-year-old has opened a case of kidnapping after allegedly being grabbed from campus and held hostage for over an hour.

The 23-year-old woman told Eyewitness News how she was kidnapped from campus on Thursday morning and held hostage while her attacker drew cash from all her accounts.

The student said she had parked her car just a few hundred metres from the UJ Protection Services at Kingsway Campus when an armed man approached her.

She said the man cable tied her hands and put her into the boot of her car.

She says he then drove out of the university while she lay tied up in the boot.

Approximately an hour after being kidnapped, the student was dropped off near Eldorado Park where she later opened up a case.

The university is meeting with her on Friday.
