Durban - A man accused of killing his girlfriend has been arrested in Durban, nearly four years after the crime, police said on Monday.
The 50-year-old was arrested in Sydenham on Sunday after he had been on the run for nearly four years, Captain Thulani Zwane said.
Brenda Pillay, 38, had an argument with the man on 13 April 2009 in her flat on Brickfield Road, Durban.
He apparently rejected her attempts to end their relationship.
"The sister of the deceased, who was also there, left the flat to call for police assistance and when she returned, she found her sister on the floor with a pillow on her chest, covered in blood," Zwane said.
