Johannesburg - A man died in shoot-out with the police after a high speed chase in Kensington, Johannesburg on Thursday, police said.
Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said Cleveland police were approached by a man who said he had seen his Honda Jazz, which was hijacked on Wednesday.
Police chased the car and a shoot-out ensued with its four occupants.
"One suspect was fatally shot in the process and [the] three others were arrested while fleeing on foot after the vehicle had stopped," Dlamini said.
They would appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on charges of attempted murder and possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.
