Johannesburg - A 21-year-old handed himself to Centane police on Sunday morning following the murder of a man he found with his girlfriend, Eastern Cape police said.

The suspect, from Macibe village, allegedly stabbed the man in a flat in Centane on Saturday night, Captain Jackson Manatha said.

The alleged killer was out on bail for the murder of an off-duty police officer during a traditional ceremony at Khantolo village near Centane in January.

At the time of the officer's murder the man was out on parole after having spent time in jail for another matter. Manatha did not have further details.

Bring back the death penalty, surely even the ANC must by now realize it's the only way to stop this.

I'm starting to see a pattern here. Maybe next time he gets parole and kills someone else, our authorities may pick up on the clues.

How comforting it is, to know that our justice system allows murderers to walk freely ..

The Jusatice System is truly a joke. How can one person commit so many crimes and yet find the light of day outside custody? One would like to think and entertain the fact that one crime is enough to ensure that the second committed crime will certainly be reason enough to deny bail for the accused.

Drink and drive and you got to jail, kill a couple of people and you get bail. Ja nee the magistrates Commission needs to clean house! The Judiciary is dropping the ball no matter how we can try and justify this series of events, the simple fact is that our courts are failing society....

The family of the second murder victim should charge the judge who granted bail in the first case with murder.

Inconceivable!!! How could it be possible for a man to have been arrested whilst on parole after killing a cop (on or off duty!) to be granted bail again. What is wron with the system here? The judge who granted the bail should be strongly questioned and made to prove that there were reasonable grounds that justified the reasons for this murderer to get bail and if he / she has failed in their job (which they have obviously done in this case) then he / she should stand trial alongside this creep as an accessory to the crime! The death penalty is the only solution!
