Suspected rapists kill cop

A policeman, Alfred Phoswa (32), was murdered in the Ifaya area, Harburg, in KwaZulu-Natal after confronting three rape suspects.
Captain Joshua Gwala said a woman who was raped in December saw the suspects at a house and reported this to two policemen, who went to the house and confronted the suspects.
One of them drew a gun and shot the constable in his right shoulder. The other policeman escaped injury. Two expended cartridges were found at the house.
