Johannesburg - A toddler and his grandmother are in a stable condition after they were shot during an armed robbery at Randridge Mall, Gauteng police said on Sunday.
Another bystander and a police officer were also injured in Saturday's robbery.
"Three victims' condition have been described as stable at hospital," said police spokesperson lieutenant-colonel Lungelo Dlamini.
The elderly woman and her grandson were shot in the leg. The fourth victim, a man, was treated at the scene for a flesh-wound on the side of his stomach.
A nine-man gang entered a jewellery store at the mall and held staff and customers at gunpoint.
They fled with jewellery in a bakkie.
Four men were arrested after a high speed chase with police. Five escaped and were being sought by police.
The four are due to appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
