Durban - Two men killed a taxi boss in a
drive-by-shooting in Bergville, the KwaZulu-Natal transport department said on
Wednesday.
Spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane said Simangaliso Khumalo,
63, was sitting in his vehicle with a woman in the Zwelisha area in Loskop on
Tuesday, when two unknown men opened fire at them.
Khumalo died on the scene.
The woman was not injured in the shooting.
Transport MEC Willies Mchunu expressed concern over the
shooting.
"Such killings must come to an end. They are so
unnecessary and uncalled for," he said.
Mchunu said issues should be discussed and resolved
amicably, not through violence.
Police confirmed the shooting, and said no arrests had
been made.
