Cape Town - A 16-year-old schoolboy was stabbed to death, allegedly by a fellow student at a school in Khayelitsha, near Cape Town, said Western Cape police on Friday.
Captain Priscilla Ndongeni identified the victim as Luviwe Tyaki.
She said the stabbing happened about 14:30 on Thursday afternoon. There had been an argument between the two boys at Matthew Goniwe Memorial High School in Site B on Wednesday.
Ndongeni said the suspect, also 16, had not come to school on Thursday morning, but had arrived in the afternoon and allegedly stabbed Tyaki in the left side of the chest.
Tyaki was certified dead on arrival at Khayelitsha Day Hospital.
Ndongeni said no one had been arrested, but detectives were questioning pupils who had seen the attack and an arrest was expected soon.
