Teens in court for raping, assaulting woman

2012-06-12 12:50

Johannesburg - The case of four teenagers accused of raping, kidnapping and assaulting a 31-year-old woman was postponed in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court, Eastern Cape police said on Tuesday.

Lieutenant Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the youths aged between 17 and 18 appeared in court on Monday.

The four allegedly attacked the woman in Cembu Street, Kamesh on Thursday night.

"They asked [for] money and when she gave them R6, they overpowered her and dragged her to the back of the house where they took turns to rape her, whilst assaulting her," Naidu said.

They were arrested on Sunday.

The case will be heard on Wednesday for a bail application.

Seems like no good deed goes unpunished! Chemical Castration!

      Squeegee - 2012-06-12 13:12

Savages. Eastern Cape again. (I post this every day - wouldn't it be great if we could have a few days in a row where it was not applicable?)

      Stirrer - 2012-06-12 14:16

Why chemical castration, eil33n? A blunt knife works better.

      Emile - 2012-06-12 14:22

@squeegee i feel ya bro. ec is in the gutter. on my way to work ther is this big blood stain on the pavement from where a guy was killed 2 weeks ago. even with the recent rains you still see it. its depressing to say the least

The effect of woonga on our kids is very depressing. Let the law take its cause. I feel sorry for the woman who had to go through a terrifying encounter with woonga addicts under the influence.

Quite silly to post a photo of white hands strangling a woman, when it stands to reason the crime was perpetrated by people of a darker hue...

      BulletProof - 2012-06-12 13:57

News 24 ,Why a Stock Photo with white people???? Explain please

      arfa.bee - 2012-06-12 14:04

@Fouche, I somewhat agree with your comment. The picture does portray violence against women (a form of predictive conditioning) and News24 should know better than to post such material in the public domain. I however, I find the latter part of your comment very lame i.e., “it stands to reason the crime was perpetrated by people of a darker hue”. Are you suggesting that people of a lighter colour do not perpetrate such atrocities? If so, I am not sure which planet you’re living on. The article did not specify what colour the people were who committed this crime – it’s unfortunate that the author used a suggestive and very offensive prop. So don’t go around targeting only darker shade people for the world’s atrocities.

      Fouche - 2012-06-12 14:54

@arfa.bee - and how many white faces do you expect to see in Cembu Street, Kamesh on a Thursday evening?

      arfa.bee - 2012-06-12 15:38

@Fouche, I am not sure and quite frankly it makes no difference to me. You should know, since you seem to be the ethnic monitor.

    As parents, siblings

  • Issa - 2012-06-12 14:02

Rape - is an acting of forcing a person to have sex against her/his will. This is an offense of a 3rd degree - out of her way giving you her money and her token of thanx she got was to be dragged, kicked, and forced to have sex against her will with unclean dirty humans in turns. This is unfair and please you boys and men if we don't change our altitude towards women on rape - God will change it and it will be hard. Law must take its course and punish these ill disciplined individuals the hard way.

      Stirrer - 2012-06-12 14:14

OK guys, do as Issa says. Change your altitude. Don't get high, also don't see how low you can go.

yip, the youth of today, what a bright future the country has

  • arfa.bee - 2012-06-12 14:29

News24 this picture is extremely offensive and could trigger off more crime against women. Bearing in mind that this platform is not restricted to law abiding, sane individuals. I think I speak for the rest of your audience by requesting that you kindly remove it or replace it with something a bit more tasteful.

  • Abby - 2012-06-12 14:30

  • Shirley Van Heerden - 2012-06-12 14:32

Old enough to do the crime, let them do the time!! How about tatooing some boobs on their backs and release them into n max security prison - perhaps Polsmoor??

      GoldenRidersClub - 2012-06-12 15:26

      TOTALLY agree ...

  • Fouche - 2012-06-12 14:44

@arfa.bee - If you were on Cembu Street, Kamesh, on a Thursday evening, and you looked around, you will see only dark faces. White people, somehow, do not visit there regularly. Also, although white people are certainly capable of gang rape, this sick crime is usually perpetrated by people of a darker hue...

      arfa.bee - 2012-06-12 15:14

@Fouche, the operative word you’ve used is ‘regularly’. What if for argument sake on this occasion it was four white lads that wondered off into Cembu Street and perpetuate the crime against the victim. We will never know for sure, now will we. It has happened so many times in the past, where white men went into the black townships and gang raped black women. So what would have changed today?

      Fouche - 2012-06-12 15:24

      They were black. Accept it.

  • GoldenRidersClub - 2012-06-12 15:25

As an example, I think cutting off the whinnies would send a loud message to the other rapists out there.

  • mpho.phawe - 2012-06-12 15:58

OH GOD PLZ HELP THIS COUNTRY,WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THESE TEENS?THIS THY DDN'T MAKE A VIDEO?THIS HAS 2 STOP.

  • John - 2012-06-13 21:11

What!? Give them bail so that the witness can \disappear\ along with the docket? \r\nIsolate them from their next victim/s!\r\nViva street justice!\r\nEVIL ONLY PREVAILS WHEN GOOD MEN STAND BY AND DO NOTHING.

  • John - 2012-06-27 21:34

It cant be, the innocent youth. Apartheid must be blame. My personal viewpoint, they are f/ing animals and should be shot.
