2013-02-11 16:28

Johannesburg - A third man was arrested at the weekend in connection with the kidnapping and killing of a man in eMbalenhle, Secunda, Mpumalanga police said on Monday.

The 24-year-old man was taken into custody on Saturday after the body of a man was found in a shallow grave just outside eMbalenhle, Sergeant Gerald Sedibe said.

His alleged accomplices, aged 27 and 35, were taken in for questioning on Thursday after the 24-year-old man was reported missing on 1 February.

"Information at police's disposal revealed that the victim... was accused of stealing money from one of the suspect's tuckshop in eMbalenhle," said Sedibe.

He was assaulted with knobkerries and his hands and feet were burnt with an electric stove.

The three men would appear in the Evander Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on charges of kidnapping and murder.
