Three arrested for hijacking

Johannesburg - Three men have been arrested for allegedly hijacking a car in Midrand on Monday, Gauteng police said.

Four men accosted the driver of a Toyota RunX, hit him on the head with a sharp object, pulled him out of the car and drove it towards the M1 south, Warrant Officer Moses Maphekela said.

The car was spotted in Bramley after a tracking device had been activated.

Three men, aged between 20 and 23, were arrested at a traffic light.

One of them managed to run away. They were charged with car hijacking, possession of stolen property and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
