Three arrested for hijacking 25 trucks

Johannesburg - Three suspected truck-hijacking syndicate members have been arrested in Soweto, Johannesburg metro police said on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the three, aged between 35 and 45, were suspected of staging 25 hijackings in the past three years.

They allegedly hijacked trucks transporting cigarettes in the Johannesburg area.

Minnaar said he did not have details about the arrests.

      Their smoke screen has been revealed - all trickery is over. Chances are they sold the goods to vendors and other small businesses at a bargain.

      No they actually get bonuses for showing fewer crimes in their books, i.e. for NO arrests. You arrest too many murderers, rapists and hijackers you loose points. They are rewarded for showing no crime in their areas of responsibility - a sick system!
