Three arrested in Kilbler Park

Johannesburg - Three people, including a policeman, have been arrested in Kibler Park, Johannesburg, for possession of stolen goods and an unlicensed firearm, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.

"Police were following information when it led to a house at Beach Alvierda Street Ext 2, Kibler Park.

The team stormed the house, and busted the suspects while they were still asleep," said Captain Pinky Tsinyane.

A search of the house by police uncovered a firearm, two ID documents, five pay slips, several bank cards and nine cellphones.

"On further search, they recovered three vehicles... which the suspects could not account for," said Tsinyane.

It is believed the two men and woman were involved in using the false documents to register cars in neighbouring countries and selling them.

"They [police] are also not ruling out the possibility of arresting more suspects as the investigation continues," Tsinyane said.

The three, between 22 and 27 years of age, were expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court soon.
