2010-07-12 20:09

Johannesburg - Three people were killed and eight injured when a truck and minibus taxi collided on the N2 between Qumbu and Mount Frere on Monday afternoon, an Eastern Cape Arrive Alive spokesperson said.

The driver of the truck lost control of it, veered into the oncoming traffic and crashed into the taxi driving in the opposite direction at 13:00, said Tshepo Machaea.

The taxi overturned.

The three who died were in the taxi. Four of those hurt were taken to hospital in a critical condition.

"The weather was really bad when the accident happened. There was snow falling and the road was wet and slippery," he said.
