Three killed in gang slaying

Cape Town - Three members of the American gang were shot dead in an apparent gangland killing in Grassy Park, Cape, Town during the early hours of Sunday morning, police said.
Superintendent Nina Kirsten said alleged members of the Six-Bob gang drove up to five members of the American gang sitting on a pavement at the intersection of Steenbok Road and Second Avenue shortly after midnight.
The gangsters opened fire on the five from a Nissan Sentra, killing three and wounding the other two.
Kirsten identified the dead as John Foster, 37, Franklin Lewis, 33 and Jeffrey Morris, 33.
Foster, from Delft, was shot in the chest.
Lewis and Morris, both from Lotus River, were shot in the head and chest.
All three died on the scene.
The two survivors were shot and wounded in the chest and leg respectively.
Kirsten declined, for security reasons, to identify the 29 and 18-year old survivors, or to name the hospital to which they were taken.
She said the two identified their attackers as members of the Six-Bob gang and said the two groups had had an argument on Saturday.
Kirsten said the killers stepped out of the vehicle after the shooting to check whether their victims were dead.
The two survivors played dead until the gangsters left the scene.
