Johannesburg - Unhappy senior police officers are allegedly plotting against Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa.

A report by the Mail&Guardian revealed that a top secret report had been compiled, naming the former acting national police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi as part of the group of police officers.

The report mentioned suspended crime intelligence boss Richard Mdluli and said there were plants to “weaken” the police minister just as was done to Mdluli.

The report mentioned the furore around a wall erected around the minister’s home in KwaZulu-Natal and the minister’s claim that he didn’t know who paid for the R200 000 fence.

It also mentioned investigations into Mthethwa’s personal life

The report furthermore accused numerous high-ranking officials of infighting and political meddling.

The minister told the newspaper he didn’t respond to “information peddling” and declined to answer questions about the report.
