Top metro cop has fake number plates

2011-09-12 08:39

Pretoria - A top metro police officer is in hot water after it was discovered that he owns a car and motorcycle with false number plates.

The Tshwane deputy chief of police, Ndumiso Jaca, is now facing an internal investigation, Eyewitness News reported on Monday.

Jaca apparently drives a BMW coupe with false number plates and police lights and also has a Harley Davidson with the same false registration number.

The number plates read BALTY GP - an apparent reference to his nickname “Balty”.

It had been speculated that Jaca will become the next chief of police.

Jaca did not want to comment about the number plates but a spokesperson for the Tshwane municipality said a meeting had been planned with Jaca and that an internal investigation would follow.

    typical, no surprise to me

      Taboo - 2011-09-12 08:55

Scary, and he is suppose to become the next chief of police. I wonder what excuse he is going to come up with. I also want to work for the police and drive nice cars and have a Harley. Seems they get good salaries. Either good salaries, or they make money from being corrupt.

@Oxyngen Are you sure you are not carbon monoxide?

      Phil - 2011-09-12 08:59

@ Taboo - It's obvious why, you can't get into a top job or parliament in this country if you haven't committed a crime.

      BOFFINBOB_UNBANNED - 2011-09-12 09:00

Yes indeed. Walking the straight & narrow seems impossible for some of our majority who hold senior positions. Perhaps he does a lot of undercover work after hours ! Yes, that must be it. Talk about dedication.

      Gazza69 - 2011-09-12 09:00

Another affirmative corrupt cop......surprised? No....not really.

@Oxyngen. Get back under the rock you came from

      daaivark - 2011-09-12 09:04

Oxyngen, as high ranking public servant, with evidence of something that would certainly seem to point to irregular behaviour, he owes the SA public an explanation. Really very simple.

      EqualStand.Org - 2011-09-12 09:06

He's above the law of course. Orwell described it well: All are equal, but some are more equal than others.

@ Oxyhead...Since when is FRAUD and DECEPTION make him a cop of good standing?? Are you insane? No wonder this country is going dowm the tubes with morons like you applauding a COP who commits fraud. God help this country!!

      Clive - 2011-09-12 09:13

@Oxyngen. And if he was a Cape Town DA appointee, he would presumably not owe any dumb-ass ANC councillor an explanation? It's called accountability, pal, a word with which the ANC is totally unfamiliar.

      GypseyAnn - 2011-09-12 09:15

@Oxyngen - top cop of good standing? Methinks not! It is against the law to have number plates that are not registered with NATIS. So I dispute the fact the he has good standing. Anyway he must be earning a fortune or taken some good bribes owning two luxury vehicles "a BMW Coupe and a Harley Davidson". Both are usually a large statement of considerable achievement!

Zennie - wow, thats crazy. I am certainly in the wrong profession.

      DW - 2011-09-12 11:19

Every time there is a promotion of someone in the offing, the investigative journalists go digging. What worries me most is that every time they come up with some sort of corrupt or illegal dealings. It is of great concern. I am not sure what conclusion we should come to in all this. Are all ANC members corrupt? Do all ANC members in positions of power automatically think it is a license to start bribing/stealing/breaking the law? Or is there some sort of code in the ANC that you need to be a lawbreaker to get anywhere in their party? From illegal leases (Cele) to drug running (Sheryl Cwele) and illegal protection (Siyabonga Cwele) to Jaca (next chief of police?) having false number plates and all the rest. Even the new Chief Justice does not come through unscathed - some of his previous judgements are extremely questionable (although not illegal, at least). Can the ANC not appoint ANYONE with integrity and a clean history. I guess not - not if the man at the top himself has dodged corruption charges. He makes it clear that with power comes no accountability - you can do what you want.

      JacobMoletsane252 - 2011-09-12 11:39

Proudly South African! KEEP IT THAT WAY ALL THE WAY!

      myancmyfutur - 2011-09-12 11:44

@ C S, has that been proven beyond reasonable doubt. I think Afriforum should open a case

      Meanleader - 2011-09-12 11:52

This is why the international poundits regard the ANC as the most corrupt organisation in the world ....and why foreign investment has dried up completely in SA .... Laughing stock hey ? And I'm gonna love to hear his story ...!!

      Organist-1 - 2011-09-12 18:09

What concerns me more is the fact that the new info gagging bill will call this "classified information" an no one will get to know this kind of thing in future. Basically the bill is to be used to cover up fraud that will embarrass the ANC.

  • leonard - 2011-09-12 08:46

Not bad for a policeman.Car plus a Harley,on his salary. Please sir can I also work here since I am under pressure to replace my 10 year old banger. As to the false plates, why am I not surprised !!!!!!

      IandI - 2011-09-12 09:06

Wonder if he is perhaps a member of the Blue Light gang after hours, pretending to work undercover(of darkness, with false number plates)? The cops are the robbers as well in the new SA then!

      leonard - 2011-09-12 09:16

Forgot to mention. The bookies have opened a book on how long this saga will take to come to fruition.Good odds available on 3 years, very low odds on "NOT GUILTY"pass go and collect a large bonus.

      Clive - 2011-09-12 09:18

Dream on, my friend. At best he might be suspended on full pay for a year or two while "investigations" (ha!ha!) take place, after which he will be reinstated with a light rap over the fat knuckles, or paid off (not fired) with a huge golden handshake.

typical effrican politics of 'do as i say, NOT as i do'!

  • SA Sucks - 2011-09-12 08:58

Where will this all end? Looking at Carte Blanche last night, and in particular the story on the find of the skeleton at the cradle of mankind in 2008, it's apparent that when you look at the reproduced images of this that evolution is a fact, and something more evident is that evolution is still taking place in Africa, and has not yet completed its cycle

      THX1148 - 2011-09-12 09:17

what has evolution go to do with this story.? If you are referring to heritage or lineage being the 'roor cause', then remember that, according to evolution, you have the same ancestors.

      The_Realist - 2011-09-12 09:24

i think what SA Sucks means is evolution stagnated for some & continued for others.

      Optimus-Prime - 2011-09-12 09:40

wow! retards like SA Sucks astound me. Evolution? really? I am disgusted to be even slightly associated with 'people' like SA Sucks. and i have to say that i hope South Africa moves forward in spite of small minded 'people' like SA Sucks. i pray that SA Sucks does not spawn children like him/herself, the world would be a better place.

      CalamitySA - 2011-09-12 13:41

Just so slow! Can't it happen overnight please

      Jeanette Abdeaux - 2011-09-12 16:07

SA Sucks, for that lot on Carte Blanche last night, I think another 2 million years might do the trick. @ Optimus-Prime, there is nothing wrong with SA Sucks' evolutionary ideas. The small minded are the ones who still want to shoot the boers who have not yet evolved. Look at him rubbing his head from back to front when JZ gave him a public talking to a couple of months ago. Precise movements of a primate. Nothing has changed for our beloved BEE brothers.

      Clive - 2011-09-12 09:23

Actually Philip, it is a fact that civil servants - to use the term very loosely as they neither serve nor are they civil - earn about 40% more than their equivalents in the private sector. And yet they still have to resort to corrupt dealings to keep up with the Zumas - pure, unadulterated greed, the fruits of freedom!!

  • Terminusest - 2011-09-12 09:11

Driving with false plates is a crime - the tax-paying public would end up in court, with a fat fine/jail time, and a criminal record to boot. In the real world this toffee would be fired, and found unfit to hold an office of trust due to this. In ANC lala-land corruption is a virtue, and I predict a promotion for this scumbag.

      StoneAngel - 2011-09-12 11:19

Terminusest - The issue here is that those who have faced the justice system and have been fined/jailed or have a criminal record for this crime should watch this matter unfold and wait for the outcome. If this policeman - Tshwane deputy chief of police - does not get the same treatment I would suggest that they appeal on the grounds of inequality of application of the law or even racial discrimination!

  • MAWEMAWE - 2011-09-12 09:13

Well, the backaward Afrikaaner government gave the the country to a half-animal species with no track record of any economic success whatsover, no proper marriage or family unit system either so we can only expect half-human, backward predatory style behaviour from them. Plus being a nation largely involved in predatory baby-rape, rape, all sorts of crime, murder and corruption, and that's sums up the truth. And it's mainly the hard-working, honest white who built up economic stabilty in this country in the past and would have continued to do so if the reins of this country were not habded over to uncivilized masses, who will always be uncivilized, now and forever.

  • eloffler - 2011-09-12 10:44

Yep, they run a crime syndicate for income until being elected to high posts and bigger money, where they can then have mutiple women and live a lavish lifestyle. An old, sickly looking, aids ridden black leans over to kiss his grandaughter , that's what it looked to me when cele leaned forward and kissed his new, young black bride. Sure, Hugh Hefner has lots of women, but he didn't make his money by ripping off the taxpayer and decimating the levels of government old age pension.

The man should resign. Of late Darren Scott resigned for wrongdoing so and so he should have but lets see if it works in the civil service. Doubt it though. On the other hand maybe he should become the next chief of police because isn't being corrupt one of the pre requisites in our civil service and para statals?
