Traffic flow across SA steady

2010-12-31 14:35
Johannesburg - Traffic flow across the country was steady on Friday, the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) said.

"As the traffic pattern starts to simmer down, people start to speed up," warned spokesperson Ashraf Ishmael.

He said that the corporation received a report from the Free State that they had arrested seven people for driving in excess of 170km an hour in a 120km an hour zone.

"This is a warning. We will not be backing down. You can have fun... but do so responsibly."

Ishmael said traffic was flowing steadily on the N3 and N4.

The N1 was quite busy from Pretoria to Polokwane and travelling to Beit Bridge.
